A 12v delay relay that activates from a switch

<< < (6/6)

mrbee:
I will have to experiment with in a separate build (i will get another 12v relay as i have a few timer relays now :laugh2:

I was away with family last week and kids are off school this week, just getting back into the build but ive screwed everything in and its a bit awkward to swap wires around to test.

method 1) works perfectly for me though but would be good to get this working with a 5v supply for another project!

Soon as ive got the base unit finished this week i will take pictures of the circuit in its place and working.

here are the relays inside of the junction box and here is a video of the finished cabinet, with working beacon! https://youtu.be/xQ5jQZSm2j8?si=ftLv53rzIzl2y2wx

here are some more photos.
The beacon flashes every time a coin is put in and looks fantastic.
It was tricky to find a beacon light that does the rotating light, a lot of them just tend to flash and flicker instead.

The beacon unfortunately would flash with one button press, and then with a second button press it would rotate, i wanted it to rotate each time it would trigger. The trouble was that when it didnt receive power, it would default to the flashing beacon and you would need to trigger it twice to rotate.

I found though that it had two 12v trigger wires, and wiring them together would make the beacon rotate every time it was activated.

So just something to be aware of if anyone is looking to have a rotating beacon for one of their projects.

PL1:
A truly impressive build with all of the cabinet details and artwork tying into the overall theme.

Please consider posting it in the Control Panel Database thread along with the info you mentioned in the Lightguns sub-forum about using an old military ammo container and building out from that.
