do i need a spinner???

That's just nutty, but I would totally try it if I had two spinners!

Go the poor man's route. If your panel has a trackball you could install a hidden switch that kills the +5v to the up/down optic board. When switched off the trackball becomes a left/right spinner control. Cheap but it works.

Surely you don't need to do this - the left/right will work fine with the up/down wired up anyway ??

Try this play two games of tempest #1 with trackball running both optics. #2 with trackball with up/down optics switched off. You will see the difference

I bought an Oscar Model 1 too... and I removed it.  

2 things that bother me about the spinner.

1) I place my spinner above my trackball.  And it got in way when playing Golden Tee.

2) I never used it.  As I could never get the settings correct for any of the spinner games.

Put the money that you were going to use to by a spinner and get yourself some T-Slik Plus joysitcks.
