Megatouch ION touchscreen issues

Whats the secret to getting the touchscreen to not have ghost presses?  All my megatouches it seems when you twist the bezel it presses somewhere on the screen. Does anyone use any type of insulation between the screen and case bezel?

Is the screen supposed to be tight in the case or float a little drives me nuts.

clean the crap off your touchscreen overlay and the bezel foam.

the space around the edge collects crud and spills and whatnots and since the touch overlay operates using reflected sound waves... around the edge is some etched lines at a 45 degree angle. this causes the wave to travel across the glass, hit the etched line and deflect at a 90 degree angle to be picked up by some other sensors. crud in these etchings as well as the attached foam lining the bezel surround will cause all kinds of weird things to happen. some isopropyl alcohol... 70% will do just fine. 99% won't break down organics and sugars... so if all you have is 99% isopropyl, take a bit and toss a splash of water in it. this will give the alcohol some ability to break down more stuff. finish it off with some regular glass cleaner.

if your foam has degraded, you must replace it. the inside of the bezel was sputtered with metal for EMI compliance... if the foam has degraded to the point where it can contact the overlay, it will cause erroneous touches..

also be cognizant of not having anything touching the overlay glass on powerup. when the controller is first fired up, it will do a calibration of sorts... basically finding its zero point status... if you or something is touching it during this time, it will think that as it's zero point. when removed, it's have all kinds of bad numbers coming back at it and it won't know what to do.

fluorescent lights can throw touchscreens into a tizzy as well....especially if they are stating up or flickering.
