Blip/Mimic inspired cabinet
SCrandom:
Blip/Mimic inspired cabinet almost done. I say “almost” because I built this project with a 48” OLED mounted vertically in order to take advantage of dynamic bezels to go along with the dynamic marquee.
I have some work to do on 4:3 bezel art because , as you can see from some of the photos below, the 16:9 placeholder bezels I am using at the moment are creating black bars above and below…
If anyone has information or knows where I can find a tutorial on working with MAME’s *.lay files, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Editing this post to add a more detailed timeline and photos of the construction process for those who may be interested, rather than just a few photos of a finished product. Life permitting, I should have it up in a couple days

That's CLEAN. I like those lines and the fact that you didn't go for a needlessly thin design despite using a modern monitor. It's got some good proportions.
Also, an entire RTX for that? I'm guessing you are also playing some modern Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.

Thanks. There are some modern fighters being played and I was originally going to add visual pinball as well but, after this was completed, I decided to go ahead and build a dedicated vpin cabinet.
I do agree though, the RTX is definitely overkill for this project.....So is the 48" LG C3 for that matter. They were both free though, so the price was right.

Good looking project! I dig it, and I'm honored to have been a bit of the inspiration.
I'll totally PM you info on the .lay files I wrote for Mimic.

Thank you for the kind words. I have no doubt that your projects have inspired many builds...
