CRT Emudriver Squashed image

(1/1)

rickyc675:
Hi people, hope you are well.

I am having some issues with CRT Emudriver.  My setup is as follows:

R9 380x
VGA2SCART sync combiner
Sony Trinitron 15Khz TV

I have installed the driver & mode lines for super resolutions, setup retroarch and that is working great.  No matter what the game, Retroarch uses the super resolutions and the games scale correctly (tested SNES, NES, MD)

The issue I am having is I cannot set the Windows desktop to be a low 240p resolution, if I set 400 x 240 for example, the image is squashed horizontally (see the picture I have attached).

I want to play Sonic Mania in 16:9 240p, but cannot get this to work.  If I set the resolution in Windows to the super resolution (2560 x 240) the game will not scale like retroarch does.  I have tried entering the intended resolution (424 x 240) in the sonic mania settings ini, but it doesn’t seem to work.

How can I set a low resolution like 424 x 240 to fill the screen when using crt emu driver in Windows desktop?  So that it is not horizontally squashed?

Many thanks for your help

Hi Ricky,

I've been off the forums too long to see the answer immediately. Support for GM and crt_emudriver is done in the GroovyMAME subforum on here, not in the Monitor and Chassis section. I'd recommending reposting your question there.

Topic moved.

No need to repost, but you may want to post a log, rickyc675.  See Calamity's sig for how to do that.

To work with native resolutions, your card need support low pixel clocks.

I don't have R9 380x to test it, but you can test minium with GroovyMame and switchres.ini.

My 380 and 380x both work with super resolutions and with 640x480i, but no idea what brand OP has.
