| How to power up with no case? |
| (1/2) > >> |
| Nailz:
I am building a bartop cabinet and was getting ready to load my OS on my new PC, and just realized that I bought all of my new equipment but didn't buy a case as I am mounting everything directly into the cab. My question is, how do I get this thing started without the power on button? Do they just sell the on/off wiring and connectors that plug into the mobo, or am I going to have to rig something up? I am assuming I just need to find a way to close the circuit between those 2 tiny little pins on the mobo, just not sure how to go about doing that. A link or helpful suggestion would be great, thanks. The mobo is an ECS K7VTA3. Thanks, Marty |

The mobo will have a jumper for the 'soft power button' you just need to hook up a momentary switch to that jumper and press it to startup the system. |

...or you could go the CMOS route... install an AC on/off switch on the game cab, and set the CMOS to boot the machine after a power failure. APf |

I would love to know more about this CMOS stuff. Could someone give the step by step info to implement this? Thanks. jimmyjet |
