Groovymame Random Stutter

<< < (2/3) > >>

Zebidee:
It is not CPU. It is probably not GPU. Is probably in your settings. Try a completely fresh mame install.

You can also just delete mame.ini, then run "mame.exe -cc" from command lineto create a new default. Don't forget to run VMMaker again (just open/close the edit settings window) so it updates your mame.ini with your monitor settings.

I still run GM v0.251 on E8500 and it runs most games effortlessly, have even OC'd a E8600 somewhat to run Gauntlet legends without dropping frames, at least in early stages. They are both better for mame than the Q9550 IMO, and you can probably likely swap them out to use the same mainboard. Iknow iknow 4x seems better than 2x but Mame runs mostly as a single core process so quad-core gives no real benefit over duo, just sucks more power.

Hmm interesting,  I have 3 GM builds all using the same GPU and all do slight random stutters. I'll play around a bit more as I really don't want to spend anymore money if I can help it. Thanks

Zebidee:
I'm confused, same GPU or exact same single video card?

Worth investigating if the glitch occurs with vanilla mame, and/or without the card(s) installed

trev1976:
Hi , same gpu model number, i have 3 of these in 3 different builds.

I run vanilla mame on a I7 3770 and a RTX 4060 and it runs perfectly (another computer I have i use for 31khz).

I've always thought it might be the software so I'll have a mess around reinstalling the mame.ini.

Thanks
