Advice on a 1/2" thickness cab instead of 3/4ths with LCD?

keep in mind as well, that these types of cabinets would also not be removing 25% of the edge material to place a t-moulding into it. They would glue on a plastic finishing strip over the edge such as EVA or PVC edge banding. (this is what arcade 1up did with their cabinets, and part of why i think these cabinets are junk.)

I have been using 3/4" material for the side panels (for t-molding) and 1/2" everywhere else (front, back and interior panels, control panel, etc.). No issues.

i thought about mentioning this, but didn't.

i guess it depends on how much weight we really need to save.
