running it through teknoparrot using direct input seems to be all good, except the crosshairs wont go exactly to the edges of the screen, even after calibrating in both windows and in the game itself.
the crosshairs are also a bit glitchy/twitchy randomly in teknoparrot.
but at least player 1 (left) is working now

i have made a full audio mod for this game if anyone is interested changing almost all sfx and music and even all fmv files music and sfx to be more authentic to the movie

You can set up control via directinput in teknoparrot and both weapons will work. This method is also suitable for Far Cry

i tried far cry on teknoparrot and when i calibrate the guns, pressing the player 2 trigger makes the solenoid work on the player 1 gun. player 2 solenoid doesnt work.
really strange.

im buying a new usb hub to see if that does anything

I am almost finished with the build now!

I made the gun case using an old military ammo container, themed it to the aliens marines.
Then built a base and monitor unit which is themed to a power loader crate and the power loader itself. It looks pretty cool, will upload pictures of it beginning of next week, just have some finishing touches to do (replace an old noisy fan I used with a new one and some paint detailing).

I have gone through every sound in the game to make it like the movie, including cut scenes and attract mode and found out some things about the game -

The sounds for attract mode and cut scenes can be stereo and high quality. All sfx of the game though, including music and ambience -the game only wants it as mono and 11khz! utter madness.
But I guess they wanted it to run in a really cheap pc.

I haven't yet found a way to get the game to stop using positional sounds, as they also have music as positional sounds so the music will play on the left speaker louder than the right and other janky things like that, Ive had to set the pc to output as mono as I can't figure out how to get it to play the positional sounds correctly. In mono everything sounds great.

As for the controls - the game is best run in teknoparrot. I have tried the guns natively using the pc aliensdeshaped.exe but only one gun seems to work properly and things get flipped round such as the left gun trigger activates the right guns solenoid and so on. Perhaps its just me but on 2 pcs now, no change.

I run it through teknoparrot and I can configure each gun easily, I am using two zero delay units (one in the gun case and one in the base unit for the coin and system menu) and in teknoparrot it picks these up straight away with no issues and no need for joy2key.
