Speaking of Disney, are you all ready to watch the new South Park episode Pandaverse. You know as soon as South Park gets a hold of something it becomes a part of public conscience.

I’m still not sure if I actually like that movie, but I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about it.

Chatted one evening with a midwestern professor that taught a class on sci-fi film studies.  He said it was the best sci-fi movie made because the replicants knew when they were going to die.

I never bought into the “he was a replicant the entire time” stuff until I saw the alternate “made for each other” ending.

Sequel was easily half an hour too long.  One and done with that one.

Just watched Old Dads on Nitflex. Reminded me of about half the people on BYOAC. Not telling which half.

Bill Burr's character showed much more restraint than I would have, and I'm a moderate!

On another movie, I watched Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at the cinema when in Australia earlier this year - I was the only person there! So I spread myself out properly in the exact middle and made the best of it, crinkling wrappers, slurping and burping loudly etc. Was awesome, except a few more bodies in the cinema would've helped to absorb the sound a bit.

Though some didn't like Quantumania, I enjoyed it. Got a new favourite quote - Cassie Lang to Darren/MODOK: It's never too late to stop being a dick.

no spoilers to speak of here...

I haven't gone to a movie theater in probably 5 years. nothing really piques my interest enough to warrant spending a hundo to watch something I could easily pirate.

but...being spooky season, the wife and kids wanted to go see some scary movies in the theater. okay.

I preface this by saying I don't scare. someone can hide out from behind the bathroom door and when I open it I'll be like... bro, I was pooing in there.  ???

went and saw the Nun 2.... meh. I liked that the movie was linked to the original. I liked that the movie kind of has a real world link to actual religious figures... but I hate left it wide open for another. Shoulda just story lined it to be killed it off and ended the series right there. too much buildup for what felt like a super rushed ending. could have had another half hour of end... but they basically had the final battle and finished it in the last 10 minutes of the film. no "post battle" continuation to speak of. at least if you are going to leave it open for another, put that in the end and stretch it out and get your moneys worth. couple of canned jump scares which where entertaining for a second... but left you with a "seriously the bugs crawling out of the skull's eyes clitche?!?!" feeling

went and saw the exorcist 2.... same thing. super rushed lazy ending. "beating the system" would have been much more entertaining but took the easy way out. again... left it WIDE open for another. like... lazy wide open. I'm certain there will be a 3 next year, and with 99% certanty... it will be TERRIBLE. but then also rushed the beginning?!?!? like you coulda got about another 30 mins of runtime out of the movie if you actually bothered to film the possession part. it's literally THE WHOLE POINT OF THE MOVIE.

4/10 would eat the popcorn again.

but then again... I have flavocol at home.. sooooo..

i'm done with movies for a bit.
