I watched it a million times as a kid as well. I still dont think it is bad, the actual kung fu fighting still looks better than any girl boss fighting they show today. I wish they could have made it into part of the Cobra Kai universe. That fighting technique could have been around CHI-Power!

The fighting is not bad but the acting....wow. I could probably act better than much of that. The girl was so bad. Still love it though.

Okay, this is what I was talking about, good lists (I'm going to seek almost all of them out and add them to the 'stuck on a mountain in 10 feet of snow and hockey isn't on" winter watching days. Winter is just brutal here, not much to do except plow the laneway, feed the boiler, keep an eye on the chickens and watch TV. I've put a media server in there as well, and planning on converting every dvd title to digital, AND look for new movies (hence this post, I knew you guys would have good ideas).

As for the politics in movies...to be honest, I can put up with a girl boss if she's written well or believable. The politics injected has taken a toll for sure, but damn, I'm a Canadian sitting on the top of a mountain in the rockies, politics don't hold much interest for me anymore, I just want a GOOD story, and making a movie via checkmark hires is like defunding cops in san fran: Sooner or later you own nothing but a big pile of sh!t (*cough* disney/lucasfilm *cough*). What I mean is, politics is taking care of itself, but in the meantime, I think a thread like this is good for ALL of us, maybe find a new gem from the past. I look through the lists and I've seen a lot of them, but not all, so that's just fantastic. I might start going through the collection I have now and seeing if I have anything obscure that's worthy as well.

Disney man … I have never seen a company be on the tippy top of a mountain and then fall straight off a cliff like Disney has. Its almost like in Captain America: The Winter Soldier when when Hydra was working in  S.H.I.E.L.D trying to take it over; talentless wokes are now working for Disney only hiring more talentless wokes.

Their demise has been fun to watch I'll admit. I even called my broker and dug a bit into what stocks were in my mutual funds. Turns out I was investing in disney AND budweiser and didn't even know it. I cashed everything out, paid off the mortgage, and now I'm looking for movies to watch. The thing is, disney bought EVERYTHING and took it all down with it. I've never seen anything like it.

Now more on topic, if anyone hasn't by chance seen the first rambo movie FIRST BLOOD, do yourself a favor and watch that. I just ordered a graphic novel written by stallone called first kill, which was crowdfunded and currently in production. I was never really a comic book guy, but listening to these writers and artists talk about their work with real passion (and not 'woman of color this and person of color that') sort of got me hooked on the concept. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/first-kill-graphic-novel?utm_source=backerkit&utm_medium=web#/
I used to love calvin and hobbes because the guy was a legit talent, and I think that's where I'm going to go for 'new' entertainment: independent creators. No more corporate video game releases, no more blockbusters, no more mainstream anything. bypass the gatekeepers and go straight to the source. It's even why I'm back into vintage gaming again (atari 8 bit and 2600) because there are people making new games with simple premises. As Howard Warshaw recently said, there's no room for single screen games in today's market unless you make it yourself (I think he just made a sequel to yars revenge). I look at it like an entertainment reboot: Go back to when things were good, and just retcon all this crap we've got now.

This thread has gotten really weird.
