Connect Arkanoid spinner to ipac2

hello
i can't get the spinner to work. the buttons and joysticks i have connected to the ipac 2 work fine.
but unfortunately my arkanoid spinner does not.
when i measure the board without the spinner at gnd and 5volts, i only have 0.8 volts there. is this normal?

The 5 volt fit. My first multimeter has a defect. With another I could measure the 5volt. But no matter how I connect the spinner it is not recognized.
Do you think it works at all on the ipac 2?
If so then it must be defective.

I don't know those pac-things, but looking at online pictures of the interface, I think you should use the pinheaders intended for trackballs... are you?
Trackballs are (dual) quadrature encoders, so compatibile with spinners (same base technology)

I have connected the spinner to the trackball connector on the Ipac2.

I have 5 volts alternating at x1 or x2 on gnd.
this is what andi from ultimarc wrote to me.
"But the Arkanoid spinner might not be compatible. It needs to be a 2-channel quadrature design with active-low signal lines."
Do you think the spinner could not fit on the ipac?
