One touch shutdown.

Ropi Jo:

Question is about one touch shutdown.

Mame running on a W7 PC, with Mala FE booting automatically.

I quit out of Mala by pressing 1P, and while holding it down also press 2P. This gets me back to the win desktop.

Then I can just press the mobo power button and it shuts down.

If I go straight to the mobo power button windows gives me a pop up to say waiting for Mala to close.

I have no buttons that will get me out of this without either plugging in a mouse or doing a hard shutdown by holding the mobo button.

If I do a hard shutdown windows wont boot without ma pressing a key on a keyboard.

This is not really a Mala question, I think, more is there a way of forcing windows to shut down from any state with just a single press of the power button?

I have been through the Mala options and cannot find anything that may achieve this, but I could be missing something obvious.

Thanks.

BadMouth:

There is an option in Mala to have it shut down the pc.  Is there a reason you don't want to use that?  I've used it with windows 7 & 10 without a problem.

Don't remember where to find the option at the moment.  It's been a long time since I had to set anything up.

BadMouth:

GUI>Mala Exit>Exit Action>Shutdown

BadMouth:

If you want to exit to desktop after setting that, you still can by using a mouse to right click and exit Mala.

If toying with MALA options does not solve, you can easily write an autoit script to force pc shutdown at key/joy press
