This way, you can lean the stool over and sit with your back straightened and feet grounded while playing the game. However, even then you still might just find standing more preferable for your comfort.

Just MHO, but if you are standing while playing a driving game, you are doing it wrong :)  But I do understand that not everyone has the room or desire for a racing simulator, especially if those types of games are not high on the list of priorities.

--- Quote --- The problem with Barstools, is that they dont "Fit" to the typical standup arcade cabinet shape.  Different heights,  shallow control control panel..
that would force you to have to extend your arms too far away from your body... and making your knees potentially hit the cabinets front.  You
also tend to have to lean forwards..  and that quickly becomes more straining, than actually standing up to play.

This is what motivated me to ditch the barstool.  There is no room for knees on an original Defender cabinet, or basically any other cabinet based on the classic designs.

However, we really don't know what the OP's design looks like, so considering that slim cabinets, or even standard designs, with larger, front-overhanging control panels aren't exactly rare nowadays, a stool for seated play might be absolutely fine in the ergonomic sense.

The utility of a stool really depends heavily on that part of the equation.
