Monitor picture doubling upon EDID emulation activation

Hello everyone. I am attempting to install groovymame and crtemudriver to play MK1-UMK3 in a dedicated cabinet on a Wells Gardener K7000 monitor. I have an HP Workstation Z230 running a fresh install of Windows 10, the newest release of mame and groovymame, and crtemudriver 2.0. I am using an AMD Radeon HD 7700 graphics card and a DVI-I adapter to VGA. The VGA goes into a GBS-8100 that then splices into the RGB ground and sync wires of the monitor. I get a picture on the monitor through this in 640x480, but when I activate EDID emulation and start mame the picture doubles on top of itself and flickers. Sometimes the issue happens only when I am in groovymame and it disappears upon closing it, but sometimes it starts as soon as emulation is enabled. I am unsure of what is causing this other than if the GBS-8100 is interfering with it, but I am otherwise unsure of how to connect the VGA wire to the monitor. If there is any more info I can provide let me know and I can. Thanks!

Can you remove the GBS-8100 from the signal chain and test if that helps?

How do I go about connecting the VGA cable to the wires of the monitor?

Something like that will do the job. Google up the VGA pinout, and then post up if you need more help :)
