I've got an AdvanceMame setup with direct connection from the PC VGA to an Hantarex Polo 15KHz connector (see attachment) with all wires connected (RGB hsync vsync ground). Your dongle could be used in my setup? I see pin 13 AND 14 in the wiring, are they both pushed on or only 13 (composite sync)?

Hi werigo, sorry for the late reply, something has been cblocking me from accessing the forum easily for months.
Yes, it looks like the dongle should work with your setup. RGB and ground are simply passed through on the expected VGA pins (1,2,3 and 5/6/7/8/10, respectively). For sync, the dongle outputs c-sync only, on pin 13. Pin 14 is not connected (well, it's connected to the PCB for structural strength, but that pad is not wired to anything).

Is there any chance this device could be setup to pass RGBHV instead of RGBHV as RGBS? This would be the use case for those who use PC to Jamma devices. If I'm not mistaken this won't work because they are expecting RGBHV and within the device itself it will convert to RGBS for the JAMMA pinout.
I have tested various PC to Jamma devices and they all have pros on cons. I'll leave some links here if you'd like to check out the specs.
* J-PAC (https://www.ultimarc.com/control-interfaces/j-pac-en/j-pac-jamma-interface/) actually has 15khz protection but you have to rig an audio amp to it.
* jammASD (https://www.arcadexpress.com/en/video-converters/257-tarjeta-jamma-asd.html) also has 15khz protection but there's input lag and pushes more Green with no RGB adjustment on the PCB
The two that I've found the best both do not have 15khz protection. :(
* SQ Arcade (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806423086079.html)
* Antonio Villena (https://antoniovillena.com/product/jamma-adapter-for-mister-low-latency/)
Crossing fingers somehow your device could work.

Well, the project and the code were never mine to begin with, and my previous attempts to modify the code refused to recompile. (in fact, taking the code as given refused to compile, so i might not have been using the right IDE). I'd like to dive back in one day...
I would also note that a lot of devices that take separate sync input would also take c-sync input over the h-sync line. Certainly worth testing per-device.
In the meantime, could your aim not be achieved by simply wiring the v-sync input to the output on pin 14? you would then get c-sync input on the h-sync line, and v-sync to v-sync. There should not be much, if any, delay, the dongle merely blocks sync when the h-sync frequency is out of range, and combines sync via logic gates otherwise. Worth testing, i would say. I don't have anything that needs separate sync at 15kHz to test this, however. And even if i did, different devices/monitors might yield different results.

Hi Buttersoft, I've read through the posts here and think this device would be ideal for a setup I'm going for.
I've recently acquired an old Sony pvm monitor (1442QM) and have it hooked up to an old Radeon 430 with a bit of a daisy chain consisting of DVI-I -> VGA -> BNC . With a lot of trial and error (and adding an NTSC gamecube to experiment with the Ext Sync options...) I managed to get a scrolling, flashing picture and realised then that I'd need to wrangle the sync if I want to use my desktop with this PVM.
This is my first post so am unable to send PMs for the time being but just wondered if you were still making these dongles?
