SMB/FTP in GA help
« on: April 11, 2023, 03:19:52 am »
I've got no idea how to do this and none of the posts I've seen have helped.

I can see via my GA PC IP via my routers dashboard but have no idea how to actually access via FTP or SMB.

I've tried several user/pass combos in my FTP app and every time it says connection refused.

Inputting my IP in the map network drive dialog in windows gives me a "cannot be accessed" error.

So my question is, do I have to setup SMB/FTP access on the GA PC side somewhere? Where do I need to look to find the credentials I need to use?

Also is there a simple (linux, lol) way to set up an SMB share the other way to have my roms on my server? Just to save all this faf?

What does "GA" mean in this context?   Trying to understand the flow here.

And IP address is just that, and address.   Doesn't mean anything living on that address is listening for your call (aka - an FTP server listening on a port, usually port 21)

Correct.

For anyone else running into problems, the address to use when mapping the network drive is: \\your.groovy.arcade.machine.ip\GroovyArcade and click use different credentials, user/pass is arcade

FTP transfers need to be SFTP mode and user pass is the same as above. Leave port blank but I believe it's 21 as usual.
