A "Ghetto" way to restrict 8 to 4-way?
« on: April 05, 2023, 02:28:58 pm »
I always over mansplain things, simply.

I've got an old Pandora box that I just want to use the current joys,  simple way to lock 4 way plate down from the top, or adjust it from the top?

I'm not looking at the  CP, looks are worth nadda, I just want 4 way switchable  with current sticks.

Like 2 locating holes or Velcro, magnets to hold it down.
 drop from the top- THANKS

You might be able to adapt the UltraStik front mount restrictor:https://www.ultimarc.com/arcade-controls/joystick-accessories/ultrastik-front-mounted-restrictor-kit-for-ball-top/

If your joysticks are JLFs or JLF clones you can use the GRS 4-way/8-way switcher:https://thunderstickstudio.com/products/tos-grs-4-to-8-way-restrictor-all-in-one-kit

The throw is wider (longer) higher up, so I'd need to widen it, I THINK, lol - :dunno

Without physically looking at one. I even thought of cutting one diagonally . and placing the two on there separately, as to adjust the Hight and width to match.

Those switchable would work, but I was trying to get it done cheaply, or I;d look for GGG Omni's.

The GRS one controls two joysticks, you just have to add the extension kit for the 2nd one:https://thunderstickstudio.com/products/tos-grs-4-to-8-way-restrictor-extension-kit

So, under $50 for both, pretty much a draw between this and buying 2 Omni's.  Assuming you are doing both joysticks.

LOL-  I guess for $50 it's not worth the hassle, 1 tank of gas. or hours of aggravations-  :hissy:
 Thanks.
