NOTE: ROMs are not included in the purcahse of this cabinet.

I'd like to let this cabinet go for $50 OBO to someone on this board for pickup in Atlanta near the Atl Zoo.

You can see the original build thread here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,16487.msg130216.html#msg130216

It has an ultimarc encoder and the monitor is reflected on glass as it was in the original Omega race cabinet. The blacklight works inside as do all other lights on the marquee, coin door and CP.

The CP is obviously custom, meant primarily to play Midway games, but accomodates many more. I had the spinner working at one point, but it's not working anymore. It was a hack so I would just repalce that.

The whole thing runs on DOS with a front end called ArcadeOS. https://pc2jamma.mameworld.info/frontend.html

I can't recall how I set it up, but if you start it up you type F1 then "go" on a keyboard ( I beleive I created a *.bat file) and the menu comes up. Speakers work great too.

More pictures here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rupy7gpz464wudl/AADFEyErBoU6GQVcE3Itzb5ia?dl=0

Just tried it and it plays really well. Some games the colors are perfect, others I was seeing odd discoloration. Not sure if this is a software issue or if the monitor needs a cap kit. I would be suprised if it does as I'm nearly certain I replaced them way back when.

You can reply here or email me.

Bro, at 19 years old this thing has earned its place.  Do you really need the $100 or space that badly?

The space and knowning someone is using it. We really don't play it anymore so it's just collecting dust.

Coming soon, a new Project Announcement thread:

"OMEGA Race found on curb!!!!" and the top 10 comments will be "I would've paid $500 for it. Great find!"

Seems like it would be gone in a few minutes if you posted on Facebook marketplace. have you tried there?

I don’t know why but I think I’m interested. Of course the deal breaker might be timing. If you’re in a hurry to get that thing out of the house I may have to pass. I will be in the Atlanta area this Spring; if that is too long to wait I’ll understand.

Omega Race was one of the first control panels I bought from Bob Roberts, god has that been 20 years now.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Arcade Jason is making a new pcb for Omega Race... I picked one up for my cocktail and its a solid product.   Seeing this work of art turned into a multi game makes me a little weak in the knees but so do a lot of things these days...

You know, I’ve been thinking about that. With ZapCon 2023 cancelled I want to take my ZapCon Experience (tm) on the road. Just wander the country looking for BYOAC brothers to drink and game with. Man, I haven’t felt like work was getting in the way of fun like this since I was a teenager.

Let me know when you want to come out. The red carpet is always ready for you here.

I will make sure other arcade nerds show up.

Some KLOV guys have started showing up at my parties.
