Adding Race Leader lights - advice needed

My racing cabinets don’t have internet so I will have to hook up a usb thumb drive and get it to you. So all you think you need is the scripts within the lua folder for m2emulator? I am assuming the outoutblaster files are all still out there so you should be good with those.

TBH i'd love your whole m2emu folder, minus the roms directory, of course. That way i can narrow down the problem better.
Could you zip that up and upload it to https://fastupload.io/ or something? Should be under 15mb zipped for sure.
EDIT: ok, cancel that request, please! I got it working- someone clued me into a current location for those output scripts.

I may have some other good news to share soon...

Outputs for STCC and SRC working! See this link - https://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133283.msg1776366.html#msg1776366
JVDV1:
so i read a lot of interesting things here, but i'm still at a loss
I have a Twin Manx TT cabinet thats converted to PCs
I'm running it well over a year in networked link mode without problems
controls are converted with U-HID and i'm running on Windows 8 - M2 EMU 1.1a
I would like to make the race leader lights work
I tried TS2, Mamehooker, Etc. but i cant figure it out
Also been messing a bit in a LUA script but i obviously dont know what i'm doing :)
there seem to be multiple ways to achieve this but what is the simplest?
So any help is welcome :)
Thanks Guys

Simplest way, IMO, is to use an arduino micro and sort-of follow Howard's first two tutorials. When it comes to step 4 of the setup, well, the arduino is not a supported device per se, but windows will give it a com port number, and you can use that com port for testing in step 5, using mamehooker yourgame.ini file commands from the arduino code Barito provided above.

I would recommend starting with a MAME game, even digdug as howard does, as this is a known quantity. Once you have it up and running, see if you can get outputs from M2emu. I would recommend BoomslangNZ's FFBplugin and the matching outputblaster for this, which uses a dll to send outputs to mamehooker. This way you don't have to mess with the lua files. The outputblaster files are either in this thread, or in the model 2 networking thread sailorsta started (start from the end of the thread and go up).
Amazing how much effort it is to get these outs working and keep them working, really :) but it can be done.

I agree with getting a simple game like dig dig working with mamehooker so you can see the mamehooker debug codes changing in real time as you play before getting really involved when Arduino code and all that. Once you have that, then you can mess with the Arduino code using that. My issue was all (correct me if I am wrong) the example tutorials for Arduino code were for single bulbs whereas mine used a led strip so I updated the code to use an LED strip. Is yours just a single bulb for each race leader?
