I just ran across this one on Steam (maybe I'm late to the game on this one.) Searched the board for a mention, but I wasn't going to go through all 13 pages of results for "1982" here. If you don't like this one, you're probably on the wrong website.

Bullet hell + elements from just about every popular arcade shooting game, with some Jeff Minter inspired psychedelia thrown in for good measure. What's more is that it can be played with a spinner, trackball or roller control, so long as it looks like a mouse and you have a mouse button available. Joystick and keyboard are supported as well. It's also easily tweakable if someone wanted to re-skin the game with some actual arcade graphics and sound effects, or even make their own.
And it's free!
*Edit:* The demo play video above doesn't do the game justice. He just shoots the "+" symbols, which is ok to do, but much better is to NOT shoot them and collect them when they reach the bottom of the screen. This results in power-ups, extra energy and shields. This also results in longer game times and higher scores.
