Front End
« on: October 20, 2022, 12:13:45 pm »
Hey guys. I was never really interested in front ends. I just made shortcuts on the desk top, double-click and go. But now I have multiple emulators. What's the cleanest front end for multiple emulators (MAME, Stella, VPinballX)?

You can try LaunchBox
Easy to set up any emulator.
But i suggest using RetroArch with different cores inside LaunchBox. That way you will have only one emulator, with one configuration.
Just download LaunchBox and play alittle with it.

I second Launchbox...  I can use it on my desktop to select whatever I like and it's flexible enough to set up just about any type of emu or game I want.  And for my arcade machine I can run it in Bigbox mode for a very nice graphical front end that's easy to maneuver.

I also suggest Retroarch + Launchbox. You can use latest MAME with Launchbox as it supports importing of MAME sets and use Retroarch for all other emus.

You might even consider registering it and then using BigBox, really cool, you will enjoy it.
