  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Wii Games Arcade with retroarch/bigbox
« on: October 03, 2022, 09:51:32 pm »
I have been adding and tweaking things since December on my first emulation arcade.  I recently have wanted to add different games from platforms that i can make work on the arcade. My latest one is Wii mario kart which is working if i set the controller to Wiii sideways.  Here is my issue/question.

When i play the joystick work and steers the car.  Gas button works as well, but when i pick up a item like a mushroom or banana it automatically uses it and i think that is because my arcade joystick is acting as the d pad which on normal wii is how you deploy items.   Also not so sure my breaks work either but haven't tested that much.

IS there a way to somehow change the retroarch controller mapping so that i can actually control the deployment of special items.  I got it to work half ass by hitting f1 while in the game and going to wii remote sideways, but that appears to have mapped my joystick as d pad possibly not sure.

Thanks for any help
