Mame games with mouse not functioning properly
« on: June 17, 2022, 02:36:08 pm »
For some reason any mame game that uses my trackball/mouse moves automatically. In centipede the ship moves to the right of the screen without me touching anything. Same behavior if I unplug my trackball.  Mouse and trackball work normally in windows.  Any ideas?

Open up mamegui and check the controller mapping settings under options/core input automatic enable. Set the trackball to mouse Also make sure enable mouse input is ticked under core input options. You can also just edit the settings directly in the mame INI.

Also check the sensitivity.  First in mame.ini, then in MAME's in game memu under analog settings.  Every game needs its sensitivity adjusted until it "feels right".

Make sure axis inc and axis dec aren't mapped to anything (those are only for when substituting non-analog controls).

Is there also a gamepad or other analog joystick plugged in?
