AMD Radeon - highest serie with dual analog output
« on: June 03, 2022, 06:49:35 am »
What Radeon highests serie (ie 43xx 54xx) has two analog outputs - either two DVI-I (with support for analog output) or D-sub/DVI-I combinations? I was thinking about upgrade slightly hardware with a bit newer Radeon but looks like many modern cards only have either combination of VGA/DVI-D or no analog output at all (only DP/DVI-D).

IIRC Radeon 5000 series is the last to have models with two analog outputs - so, only ancient cards, pretty much. I also remember there being some question about the DMS59 6000 series low-end cards, but they turned out to be rebadged 5000 series cards anyway.

If you want to keep the cost down and use a low footprint I recommend the low-profile R7 350/350x 2/4gb Vram. You can usually find these in OEM Brands from Dell.
these work great with a dotclock of 0.

There are 7000 series cards with dvi and vga outputs, so is it possible to get a converter?
Why do you want 2 of the same output?
Granted you need various input monitors, but it makes setup of CrtEmudriver much easier if that is the goal.

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

Yeah, I had one card with DMS59 and indeed it was installed in system as 5xxx serie.

Problem is I use two TVs - one for vertical games and one for horizontal games. Since my motherboard has only one PCIe16 unstalling two cards is not an option. It would be costly anyway.

Converter would another option but again adds additional cost.

The main goal of replacing card was to improve of some late Taito Type-X games. Right now I have HD5450 with two DVI-I inputs.

I've found https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/powercolor-hd-7450-2-gb.b2142 - PowerColor 7450 and DVI at on pictures is DVD-I.

The VGA output, cable-connected onto these low-profile card are supposed to be low quality. Well that's what I've read somewhere...

On my side I'm still very happy with theHD4870, two DVI-I outputs.

HD4000 serie was fine in the past but due many problems I had with resolution switching, interlace modes I'll stick with at least HD5000 serie.

Today I tested PowerColor HD6570 and XFX HD6450 - both have DVI-I but sadly no picture through DVI-VGA adapter.

Hi Haynor
on my cabinets I use the latest AMD HD7970 video cards with DVI-I analog output, actually the HD7990 was also made but it is very rare and expensive.

on the 7970 the analogue output is only one. I for my cabinet with two monitors one vertical and one horizontal as in your case I use a VGA switch and drive the signal either on one or on the other monitor.

Switch is also an option but I prefer to find card with two analog aoutputs. Yesterday I received Asus HD5670. We will se tomorrow if this card will work.

EDIT.

Asus HD5670 gives analog signal on both outputs.
