Editing Outrun 2 Save Files / Bug report

Well Hello!

I recently got MAD into Outrun 2. Like bad. The only issue is I'm completely stuck on professional 18, "test your slipstream". I've triple A'd it twice now, to no avail, as everytime i finish the second course the game crashes and it does not save my progress.

Is there anyway I can edit my save file? I don't suppose thered be a bug fix for this, but its a stain on triple A record.
