  • Before you start your next project, don’t.
I’m using an Ultimarc Ultimate I/O and as you can see one side of my LED’s are not working.

What would cause this.

  • I believe I may need an intervention
Loose ground is first thing to check.
If it is one continuous loop then trace until you find a break.
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

Using the same order of wires for the left side LED pins (pins 1-48) and right side LED pins (pins 49-96) will cause that.

If you look at the lower left and right of the Ult. I/O PCB, you'll see that the left LED pin columns are labeled "+RGB" and the right LED pin columns are labeled "BGR+".
- Blue pins are on the inside.
- Operating voltage pins are on the outside.

Looking at your wire colors, both sides appear to be in the same order with the blue wires on the right.
- The blue wires are inside on pins 1-48 and outside on pins 49-96.

Try turning the Dupont connectors 180 degrees on the side with pins 49-96 so the blue wires are toward the inside of the board.

RGB LEDs don't share a common ground like button switches. Each color of an RGB LED has it's own ground. And the colors are controlled by switching those grounds on and off, or by altering resistance between the LED and Ground. RGB LEDs can share (daisy chain) power. However, this is not the case in this instance. Scott's got a good eye.
