First arcade cab - requesting help with monitor

I recently picked up my first arcade cabinet. It has clearly led a full and adventurous life and has been many games over the years. At present it has a cps2 setup with Alpha 2. Pretty much everything in it needs to be reworked. jamma harness is a mess of splices. controls are unresponsive, monitor needs to be recapped (picture stretches towards the top), etc. My big question revolves around the monitor and its power supply. Lets say that the current wiring setup is rather sketchy and I want to replace that as well. So the monitor is a Sharp Image SI-319s-JS. At present the monitors power is soldered directly to an isolation transformer. But the documentation leads me to believe that this monitor doesnt require that. So if i want all new power do i need to build this: http://therealbobroberts.net/acwiring.html or can i get away with just an arcade power supply? if so how do i then tie the power in? Appreciate any help.

my confusion continues. I bought a new jamma harness wanting to clean everything up. but the harness has a 5 pin connector (r,g,b, ground, and sync). But my monitor has a 6 pin connector labeled as V, H, GND, B, G, and R.  Its all spliced together and it appears that it is set up to where the white sync wire is doubled over and is in both V and H. Is that how it ought to be?

You'll need to learn about sync signals and switch mode power supplies as they differ from one machine to another.
Don't fire up that monitor until you know it is properly set!
