Spintrak as driving controller in Steam issue

Spintrak through a U-Hid USB.

Steam sees the board as generic, but offers config like a game pad. Even requires entries for items not present to save - or so it seems.

Searched and found nothing that applies. Steam help didn't seem to have a clear answer either.

Spintrak works with MAME without issue. Also has X-axis control of mouse - outside of MAME.

Any directional help would be appreciated.
