| DVD/Blu-ray ripping software |

What software are people using for DVD/Blu-ray ripping these days? I currently use MakeMKV to rip and then Handbrake to convert the MKV to m4v. It seems like there should be a one step solution out there. I don't recall my reason for not adding the extra file to Handbrake to make it rip directly. Maybe it didn't work with Blu-ray. |

jeez, haven't tried to rip a bluray in a long time. even longer for a DVD. I used to install standalone software for DVD that allowed me to copy the files to my PC then i used something like make MKV to shrink it. for BluRays, i had software that was similar. then handbrake to compress. i can't remember the software or where i found it. some forum or torrent i think, it wasn't just out there for download. though the bluray software at the time couldn't keep up with DRM so some of the newer titles couldn't be copied. about that time though netflix and hulu started taking off along with kodi and i really just stopped using my bluray. so in short, no i no longer know how to rip those formats. |

Not the answer you are looking for, but its faster for me to download a DVD/BluRay rip than it is for me to do it myself. I don't even have any SATA drives in my computer anymore, let alone an optical one. |

Almost done ripping the series I bought, so I'll stick with my current process. |

I have ripped dvd/BD myself when it's sitting on my shelf and I can't find it online. I pretty much use MakeMKV then re-encode using Handbrake to get it to a more manageable size. |
