By the way, what is the state of this in MAME ?   Has anybody tested it ?

Not sure of the current state in MAME, but MAMEDev Aaron Giles wrote a standalone emulator for it a while back.

It was more an exercise than polished emulator.  I don't know if he released the source code.  Don't know why he wouldn't.

EDIT: If the roms have changed, you may need to use the roms from 2004.

The emulation of Radikal Bikers was far improved compared to that emulator.  There's no chance the LAN is emulated in the 2004 emulator.
