Aimtrak config in a multi emulator light gun cabinet
« on: October 19, 2021, 11:41:38 am »
My goal is to build a dedicated light gun cabinet with 2 Aimtrak guns, but I'm struggling to find a "one size fits all" configuration.

Mame seems to work best when my guns are emulating a joystick.  Games like Lethal enforcers seem to balk when they are emulating a mouse.  Interesting enough Mame seems to support dual mouse (I do hardcode the device ID's in my config).

My remaining emulators (Sega Model 2 and 3, Demul/Demulshooter, Teknoparrot) seem to only work when the guns are emulating a mouse.  However, they don't like two running at once.  Even if I'm playing with one gun (the other is plugged in), I seem to intermittently lose connectivity for one gun, or it switches to the other gun mid-game!

I've read stuff all over various forums and I can't seem to find the best way to put it all together for what I'm trying to achieve.  I want to be able to kick off my games from my front end without having to switch my config settings.

Help is much appreciated!
