Megatouch Aurora 17” error “Cable Disconnected DSUB Analog

I have two Aurora’s that I recently purchased that have been sitting for 10 years.  The seller said he shut down his bar and both were working when he put them in storage.  Both had about $20 in quarters in them so I don’t doubt it.  I replaced the 2032 battery on the motherboards and the machines would not boot on it’s own.  I forced booted it and the fans and LED’s come on, but I get the message “CABLE DISCONNECTED D SUB ANALOG”.   I reseated the SIMM board and all of the cables on the board.  Any suggestions on what to try next?

Make sure you short the power switch pins on the motherboard to turn it on and you aren't shorting the power supply green/black wires. That would only turn on the power supply and not the motherboard. Most of the time is is just the 2032 batteries that have gone bad and need to be replaced, and the board will need a manual turn on. I think there is an option in bios on that board to turn on on power fail in the power management section if you could get it to turn on.

yank out your motherboard tray and pull it almost all the way out. in the back left corner there is a plug with a couple wires on it. pull that off and find the connector with all the different colors on it.

short the 2 yellow ones together with a small screwdriver and it should power on for you. be sure to go into the bios and set the "powerup on AC loss" to ON

I jump started it by jumping the yellow pins on the board and it comes up with the same message Cable Disconnected DSUB Analog.  Any suggestions? Thanks

Step 1- try external monitor
Step 2- replace memory
Step 3- replace power supply
Step 4- remove motherboard completely from game and bench test with a known working power supply and monitor
Step 5- replace CPU
Step 6- replace motherboard

My usual path of diagnosing these machines

One machine had a bad power supply and it came back to life.
