Problems with zippy joystick not consistently rendering input
« on: September 12, 2021, 10:52:40 am »
Cabinet is from TheArcadeGuys, 2nd player joystick (out of 4, so the main one for 1p use) after a few months isn't consistently registering right or up/right direction.

I took the stick apart, but all the connections seem tight to the joystick, manually pressing them works.  Put everything back, problem still exists.  Saw how bending the microswitch might help but it's right up to the joystick as it is, it's not like there's a gap that would not register a light press.

Get new microswitches or what would be the next troubleshooting step?

Thanks!

Did you contact the company?

What is the warranty?

The Zippy I have which has 8,4,2 restrictor plates (green plastic) acted the same for a defender build.  It wasn't making contact with micro switches.  The spring was culprit.

The assembly was fine.  You might want to swap them out with Happ supers.
