Aurora Asus K8N-VM - No Video
« on: September 01, 2021, 04:28:54 pm »
Hi, I have an Asus K8N-VM that stopped displaying video suddenly. It was booting the linux process and during the screen went all pixels and it froze. The board powers on no problem but will not show video anymore. I have tried reseating the RAM, removed the CPU and added fresh paste, removed the video heat sync and added new paste, changed the cmos battery, tried a video card as well in the pci and pcie.....all with no luck. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks.

unless something is obviously on the board shorting it out (coin, screw, etc.) it's cactus.

grab an intel D945GCLF2 or D945GCLF off ebay and cut your losses now with a more reliable board.

I have brand new (old stock) ASUS K8N-VM. Just need to reuse your Heatsink, ram, and cpu.
