Megatouch Aurora Scratched Touch Screen
arcadezz:
I have a couple scratches on my Aurora touchscreen that are effecting the touch screen and gameplay. Other than replacing the touch screen, anyone had any luck with other solutions that worked?
Thanks for any info.
lilshawn:
nope. exact replacement only.
how scratched is it? i've seen some really deeply gouged overlays that pickup just fine.
i'd make sure your outlet is properly grounded and the touch screen overlay isn't touching the inside of the case. (the case has conductive coating to reduce EMI)

Its maybe a mm or 2 deep....I can get my nail into the scratch pretty easily. I have a glass 3M touch panel thats the same length and width, any idea how thick the touch overylay is on these? Wondering if I could swap it out.
lilshawn:
3/16? somewhere thereabouts. touch panels are made pretty consistent. the only issue with swapping it out is you have to swap it for the same part because you have to retain the same controller. sure, you could plop a ELO overlay and controller in there, but the software is programmed to have the exact controller that's in it...in it. you can't just slap another controller in there cause the game won't know what to do with it. (and would throw up an error saying the touchscreen is not found as it boots)

I have used this touchscreen in force models with no issues.....any idea if the force touch overlay works in an Aurora? (I know the size is wrong, just curious if it functions)
