Might even be cheaper than a repair.

Shipping his chassis out for repair would be really expensive from his address.

A chassis from eBay would be cheaper.

From what I've seen I think you guys are spot on.
There are rebuilt ones from time to time that are almost exactly same cost as shipping and repair of a dead one for me.

That was the beauty of this Hong Eun I just fried.
It was working until I hooked it up the way the Sharp Image one was!

I have some time to think about it anyway.

Excited to have that cabinet back together and nearly running as it is so a little patience on my part is all.
I really DO want to learn about fixing these things.

Reminds me I need to get a few 1:1 isolation transformers.
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

I sometimes forget this, or rather I fantasise it isn't really true because it costs me the same to send to Bobby as it does for any other USA address. May as well buy new/refurbed, then you can practice your Hidden Tiger arcade monitor repair skills on the Hong Eun instead :D

GREAT job. 2049 has been on my want list for a while. You should install the TE upgrade. More cars / tracks.

Thank ya, thank ya very much...

It has been quite a trip.
Pales in comparison to Arroyo's work on his EDOT!

And I appreciate your confidence in my developing pcb skills Andrew!
I've been so busy with work and homestead activity that I have had scant time for any fun at all.
My soldering IS improving enough to tackle a chassis repair without destroying it at this point I think.

When I get back from Zapcon and catch up on the work I have been putting off I will take a shot at it.
Diagnosis will be the biggest hurdle.
I'm going to start with a K7000 I have since I have pretty good documentation to get started at least.

I need to find some tubes that aren't 27" and bigger!
The only ones I have seen pop up recently are 32 (which I have two of already!) and 36 (and the one of those I have is more than enough.)

I NEED to get home so I can finish fixing/building all this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I have going on here already or the fabric of the universe may unravel.

Man, has it been a while.
I finally got back a compatible chassis for this that I sent out months ago.
It needed more than just a cap kit- that at least I am now capable of- and it was too damn hot today to do anything out in the sun so I thought what the hell.

I needed to make some harness adjustments to get everything connected properly but after double checking the boardset (it ran before with no errors at least!) I fired the whole thing up and was rewarded with great sound and a pretty decent image- which hopefully I can dial in with a little effort.

It gave a warning that the wheel is not responding so I will have to do some investigation.
The coin vault is gone and although I have the coin door assembly it is a mess so that needs so work too.
It won't coin up, even from the test switch board, so I need to sort that also.

Not 100% yet, but very encouraging.
Maybe before the end of THIS year I can get some linked play going on with the other one?!

Thanks Mike.
It's nice to make some.
I even got the Cruisin' Exotica I picked up a few weeks ago running that day too.

Not sure what to do now as I have officially run out room and I am in no mood to drag another sit down driver up the stairs to the loft.

Need to find somebody here I can trade with for a pinball machine.
