GRRRRR...sound drivers...
Nerd Of Nerds:
ok, my mame setup is as follows:
DOS 6.22
arcade os
mame pentium pro optimized
i have a generic sound card and don't know how to get it to work with dos, i don't have a driver cd for it either, and there is no brand name stamped on it ??? any ideas how i can get sound running? a generic driver would be handy...
THANKS ;)
CitznFish:
maybe an old DOS SoundBlaster16 driver would work? that was pretty much the standard IIRC
SirPeale:
Two options: take a good picture of the front and back of the card, someone can track it down
Or put every single number that's on the card into a post here.
Option one is your best bet.
Nerd Of Nerds:
ok, well, i used a pcisniff program to see if that could get me ANY closer and it did, sort of... it is a yamaha ds-xg(vice versa?) 724... i can't seem to find DOS drivers for it :'( and i don't want to get a new sound card...i am on a major budget as far as my mame cabe goes.. i think i have only spent like $50 on it so far and it is in pretty good shape, still needs to be painted and have sound tho... ::)
off topic:
the monitor i am using is a 17" pc monitor i got for $5! the cab was free, and the controls were $20 + wood costs... wow, i am a cheap little bastard ;D
SirPeale:
Sounds like my old sound card, before I got a motherboard with onboard sound.
I am not sure if there are DOS drivers for it. I know there are Linux drivers, but DOS?
I've got a driver disc for it...somewhere. I know it's in a CD folder, but where the folder is (packed away somewhere) is a mystery.
