Whoever built this cab cut the bezel and marquee down to fit this cab. You can have it.

I will pack the art and bring it it Zapcon.

Cool, hand it to Haruman and he'll ship it to me :)

Really nice work on that metal panel. That’s the way to do it man, the spirit of BYOAC is right here.  :applaud:

Looking forward to seeing this one finished. People throw shade at SF1 but I have fond memories for the game. The audio is so nostalgic to arcades back then. For some reason every arcade that had this game had the volume turned up to 11! You could hear this game over most of the other  sounds at every location it was in.

I drilled carriage bolt holes smaller than the square shoulder and then filed the holes to shape and size.

[img]http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=159740.0;attach=387434;image[/i]

is there a name for that tool?
i have two pre-drilled metal control panels with holes too far apart for the sanwa style joysticks i have and need to drill it.
was going to use a bit to make a hole just big enough for the carriage bolts to snuggly fit and grip the sides.
but if i can make the holes square that would be ideal.

I know what the tool is and what others call it but i'm not finding it anywhere and think i'll have to make one myself.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S5Y9JPV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is still a bit too big for #10 carriage bolts. I had to grind it down at the end to taper it more.

$4 at harbor freight.
sweet.
thanks.

With (a lot of) help from Arroyo, I have finished the CPO file. It is ready to go to the printers.

Next up is the marquee and bezel. Those will be much easier. I think they just need to be resized.

I will be cutting a new speaker panel tomorrow.

My marquee light came in today.

This thing should come together pretty quickly now.

The only holdup will be the artwork. All of the guys who do this stuff seem to be backed up right now.

I need a durable cpo. There will not be plexi on top.
I will also need a marquee with the artwork printed on it.
And a printed bezel. It can be printed on cardboard.

I got sidetracked by a friend who needed a Wacom tablet USB connector fixed.

I cut the new speaker panel, and now I have to cut the top panel 3/4 of an inch shorter to fit the new marquee once it comes in.

I still need to finalize the marquee artwork. Hopefully tonight.

I will post pics maybe tomorrow.

I will post it up here when I get off work.

It is nothing fancy. Just the stock SF2 CE artwork adjusted to fit this cab.

If it’s not a collage of all the SF Bros and Sises standing in a line looking jacked and ready to fight, you haven’t learned a thing from this place.

Not the arcade Donkey Kong, either. The SNES era 3d rendered Donkey Kong with tie on, you know, hanging out with the ultra random character like Bomb Jack.

The builders first name with cade at the end. "Mikecade"

You guys just gave me great ideas for my next cab.

It will be a JAMMA cab that only has bootleg PCBs.

The artwork will be an amalgamation of terrible choices.

I get what you’re saying, but I have more respect for people who say “Thanks for the feedback, but I like what I drew and I’m gonna stick with it” as opposed to dudes that just flame out and have a meltdown.

We’re just providing us feedback, you don’t have to take it. I mean, we are usually right, but that doesn’t mean it’s right for your machine. :-)

So here is the artwork.

Marquee:

CPO:

This is the standard SF2 CE artwork. It is really simple.

Howard commented elsewhere that the SF2 artwork would have been cooler. He is right.

I wanted to use the artwork from the fighting game I know best. So that is what I did.

Fighting games are not my favorite genre because I suck at them, but Arroyo is bringing me around.
