Ipac2 and Mame - Issue
« on: April 04, 2021, 04:17:28 am »
Hi all

I have an Ipac2 connected to arcade buttons and joys and everything mostly working, however one of the issues I have always had in games like Mortal Kombat is reliably jumping right to left and left to right of screen, often the players just jump straight up in the air. Occasionally moving left and right is problematic. The joysticks are set to 8 way. They are either Sanwa or one of the better clones purchased from a reputable supplier. I can't remember exactly but suspect clones.

The obvious answer could be warn out joysticks, however they haven't been used that heavily and don't show any signs of damage.

I did read somewhere that there was a way to set the Ipac mode to gamepad input rather than keyboard input. I've downloaded the WinIpac version for older Ipac's purchased pre 2015, but couldn't find such an option. Attempts to upgrade the firmware failed in this app too, despite the fact that the board is still fully functional (outside the mame movement issues described).

Any ideas to deal with this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
DM
