  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
RPCS3 & Daytona etc.

I hadn't tried the RPCS3 emulator til yesterday, as I still have my PS3, but was pretty impressed with how it runs some arcade racing games.

The PS3 version of Daytona runs perfectly on my ageing gaming PC. It's a great version of the game, and seems to be a reskinned version of the original model 2 game with hardly any pop-up, much better textures, and widescreen. It also supports logitech wheels if you use the USB passthrough method with RPCS3. The FFB seems to function the same as on my arcade version, and feels really good. There are also some other gimmicky modes and other additions, like the remixed soundtrack, which I really like. You can upscale it to 1080p as well.

Ridge Racer 7, Outrun Online Arcade, and GTI Club+ are also playable, and the first 2 run really smoothly (GTI Club+ is a bit slow and has choppy music, but that might just be my old PC). I haven't been able to get FFB working with these, but it should be possible.

So a good addition to a racing PC/rig if you haven't already got it, and don't want to cram a PS3 in.
