GBS 8100 LDO IC1
« on: February 09, 2021, 07:34:31 pm »
Hi,

My GBS 8100 Ver 02 smoked when hooking up to a Nieman 3M25. I was trying to hook up a PC to the monitor, and I think I had the termination set to 75 Ohm instead of 1K Ohm.

Can someone confirm that IC1 is an AMS1117?  And, is it adjustable or fixed (1.8V or 3.3V?)?

Thanks!
Rob

Even though the package was pretty damaged, I was able to make out AMSxxx7 and a 33 mark, so I'm going to assume it's a 3.3V regulator.
