I get the same message when search tries to return results.
- Tested using Firefox + IE, Win7

EDIT: Tested with IE.  Also tried several limited searches looking in just one sub-forum and/or shorter timeframe -- same results.

Well, that is well and proper borked. Boggle. I'm going to have to rip out the search engine and reinstall.

The bad news is I'm out of work starting Wednesday for two weeks.

The good news is I'm out of work starting Wednesday for two weeks, so I'll have time to dig into it proper.

Same here. Any update?

I don't want to pile on here or nag, but I need help with several things and can't research them. I can't post without first researching, so I'm kind of in a holding pattern.

I was wondering how this site gets maintained (besides saint)?  Is the hardware managed by an ISP so that multiple sysadmins can address issues in a timely fashion?

BTW, is there a donate button somewhere?  I've been active here on and off for 14 years, and would love to see the community provide more support for the longevity and maintainability of the site.  Loss of the community and historical data would be a tragedy.

Here's a limited but somewhat useful workaround if you know a keyword and the poster.

- Under the poster's profile, click on "show posts".

- Use find (Ctrl-F or F3 in many browsers) and/or find next (Ctrl-G in many browsers) to see if the keyword is on that page of post results.

- If you don't find what you're looking for, go to the next page of results and find next. (Ctrl-G)

JRobATL found a way to partly restore search functionality.
You can still use the search feature if you search in message subjects only.
