« on: October 28, 2020, 08:49:18 pm »
I get
"Unable to access the search daemon"
when i try to search.
Any idea?

Just found out that searches currently are done through google using the site option i.e "site:forum.arcadecontrols.com"

Yes. The site search is annoyingly busted.

Yep, search is broken. There is one way to get around that though.

Just go to google and type in

Code: [Select]
site: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com

Follow that with what you are searching for. For example, say I want to look for posts with "iPac" in it, I'd type:

The results will be only from this site:

It's not the most accurate, but it does help some.

You can still use the search feature if you search in message subjects only.

Well ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I didn't know that either.  Could we get a giant sticky or a post on the landing page talking about that?  I might actually be able to find stuff now.

Sounds like a reasonable idea.

What do the rest of you think?

I quoted JRobATL's post in the Bug Reports thread here since that thread seems like a logical place to gather related info and it's less prone to being pushed down the page and overlooked than a post here in Main.
- People are more likely to be in Main, but it's easier to find a Bug Reports thread.   :dunno
