WTB: Namco Plate for Midway Pac-Man
« on: October 20, 2020, 09:39:24 am »
Greetings programs, hope everyone is doing well.

Kind of an odd ask today but looking for one of those Engineered by Namco Manufactured by Midway plates that go on the back of an arcade machine as the recent cabaret I got doesn’t have one and would like to fill in the space.

I attached a pic of what it looks like.

I’ve searched the Internet and found only one thread here where a person was making these at one time but the thread is 7 years old and doubt he still does.

Would prefer an actual plate and not just a foil sticker at this time.

Thanks for any help and stay safe.

When you say foil sticker do you mean a sticker that covers the plate or do you mean a sticker like Sergio did here?

Just meant that I’d prefer an actual metal plate vs. something like aluminum tape, sticker or foil.

I did see Sergio’s page but I don’t have the printer that can do this, or at least I think my black only laser printer couldn’t do it?

Any help is appreciated.

Get Avery 15665 full page clear labels for laser printer.

Amazon doesn't have them, but Walmart and Office Depot do.   :dunno

Print the desired text/images on a clear 15665 label.
- You can probably fit four copies on the top half of the label.

If you don't want to use clear spray paint to protect the printing, you can use the blank bottom half of the label to laminate it.

Thanks for the help, what type of clear is best?  Regular clear spray like Rustoleum or would Krylon Triple Thick work as I have some of that?

Any suggestions on a place to get a similar plate like they used?

Thanks again everyone for the help.

According to the link above, Sergio used a light coat of Krylon Triple-Thick.

Not sure how that would look compared to the lamination technique.   :dunno

Unless you get some plate blanks from a "Things Remembered" or trophy shop, you're probably going to have to cut them from a larger piece of material.

Not sure about the thickness, but it's hard to beat the price on this 3" x 7" aluminum flashing.

ED read over page 2 (3/4 of the way down) of my build thread.  It should help you if you want to do a self made plate.  I believe I used .019 thick piece of aluminum from Home Depot and Rustoleums Triple Thick Glaze.  Also I found this website that creates custom plates.  I have not used them and I don't endorse them but its worth a try.

Thanks so much everyone for all the help, advice and suggestions.

It looks like so far no one has any of these to sell so I’m gonna try to make one using Sergio’s guide and ordered the thicker metal business cards and some clear Neato labels so we’ll see.

I am hoping there’s already a template made for this specific Namco\Midway one like on CoryBee’s first post as I’m not very good with image editing and only have Gimp.

Fingers crossed.
