Raspberry Pi Lightgun Build
« on: October 10, 2020, 12:33:30 pm »
I posted about this in Lightguns, but perhaps it is better posted here.
Do any Raspberry Pi builds exist that are build around gun games ?
You see console based builds, fighter based builds, but anything lightgun centric ?

I've had a pair of Aim Trak guns that were shelved for 7 years.
The existing MAME pc that I use with the guns is dated, and I can't play HOTD3, Model 2, etc.

I've got another PC, but as I try to rebuild what I had and add lots of lightgun stuff I realize I lost the passion.
I have no desire to do all this PC work, problem solve, learn, etc.

The Raspberry Pi has been such an amazing thing IMHO - the simplicity of these prebuilt images saves SOOOO much time.

But has any enthusiast built something that works with Aim Trak guns ?

Thank you for posting the videos, I had actually seem them prior.
I realize while I love my existing cabinets, what was once fun (working on them) is a drag now.
Two kids, less time, less interest................ughhh!
Ready made solutions would be amazing.

I've decided I will work with the existing PC and try to get MAME configured, letting go of the other consoles.
I'm looking to pick up a pair of Raspberry PI's this week, seeing as they are more powerful than the existing PC
I may give that a try also.
