Jama 60-1 Multicade upright cabinet. Upgrade?
« on: October 24, 2020, 01:13:12 pm »
I am about to order a replacement 60-1 board and was wondering if I can get the 412-1 instead without too much rewiring or will I be able to just plug into existing harness? Has anyone done this? Thank you for the help in advance!

Well if they are both jamma then jamma is jamma.... you can just swap them out.  Take note of the audio though as it isn't always standardized.

Watch for the difference between a standard JAMMA harness and a "CHAMMA" (Chinese JAMMA) harness.
- The CHAMMA harness changes some of the unused pins and grounds (pins 25-27+c-e) into button 4-6 inputs for P1 and P2.
- IIRC when pins 27 and e are connected to ground, a CHAMMA PCB won't boot properly because it thinks those buttons are always pressed.

Thank you for fast responses. Replacing board as all cintrols stopped working at once. Continuity checks on all grounds are good. I can' t do anything except watch it boot and cycle through demos.

New board was no change or improvement. I did find only 11vdc out of power supply so addressing that now. Has anyone seen that take out all controls? I am in Melbourne Beach Florida if anyone is close by and experienced with the 60-1 multicade.
