mini outrun mame project
« on: September 17, 2020, 12:32:16 pm »
hi folks,
i am working on a new project
i want to mame my mini outrun, keep original control and rumble motor...
i have installed, racermame160 and mame hooker
i used outrun rom upright revb
i connected steering wheel to an APAC with success!
i identified the 3 wires as 5v grnd and pot
and plugged accordingly to APAC

but different story for pedals...i follwed same logic with no success
for example
gaz : blue/white to ground
        blue to 1down
        yel/blue to 1up

brake : green/white to ground
           green to 2up
           yel/green to 2down

in windows 10
ultimarc controler properties
test is ok
left/right ok
up/down ok but when i step gaz little cross goes down
and stop goes up...
but not working when i start outrun
steering works but no pedals
input the game menu
i see acc. ctrl    brake alt
so do i have to change that to pedals that s where i am and im lost!!!
can you help me to plug pedals and set them up accordingly? thanks...

Sounds a like bit like maybe you've got the pedals wired as "single axis" (both pedals combined on one axis) or some unusual connection(s).   :dunno

If they are wired as "single axis", they will behave like this:

If you want them wired as "dual axis" (gas and brake pedals have separate axes, not combined), here's how you can do that:
gaz : blue/white to ground
        blue to 1down
        yel/blue to 1up

brake : green/white to ground
           green to 2up
           yel/green to 2down
1. Unplug the USB cable.

2. Connect the blue and green wires (center tab a.k.a. wiper) to the "up" inputs.

3. Connect the other two wires for each pot to "down" and "gnd".

4. Re-connect USB cable so the A-Pac can auto-sense the pots.  Everything should work.

5. If an axis is backward, unplug the USB, swap the two wires in step 3 and re-connect the USB.

Done!
with Scott advices and a little research... i went with seperate axis way, i had to adjust pots (physicaly)
now i ll try to plug the shifter...racermame has the single switch shifter option, i have to find how to plug it to Apac...
single switch...open  shifter up     closed shitfte ave to find a wayr down...
to be continued...

i ordered a ledwiz for blinking start button and rumble motor...
then i have to find a way to plug my pc to original arcade monitor...
