Incorrect proportions on Windows 10 on CRT 15 khz
« on: August 08, 2020, 05:02:40 pm »
Hi to all. I'm new around here.

I just set up a PC for GroovyMAME, with an Ati Radeon HD 3650 256MB and the VGA to RGB cable.

Everything is correct: I installed Calamity driver, set VMMAKER, and Atom-15 BIOS modified; all good, except for one big problem: the Windows 10 screen looks disproportionate (see photos) when it broadcasts on the CRT TV as a single screen or as a desktop extended from my TFT screen; if I duplicate with screen it does look correctly, and as soon as I start the GroovyMAME as well (before Windows loading, the Windows 10 logo also looks correctly).

Can you help me? Keep in mind that I can hardly access the screen config Win 10 options, but it does not offer me the possibility to change the resolution: this option appears to me blocked when the desktop is only in the CRT or extended, not when I duplicate the screen, which is it lets me change them (although when I switch back to just CRT it appears wrong again).

Thank you very much in advance. Best regards:

Don't have answer for you, but fixed your image tags :)  Calamity may be able to help in a bit :)

I could have sworn i answered this, maybe i forgot to hit post or something...

The desktop is displaying a super (wide) resolution like 2560x480@60i. Windows grabs this mode when you remove it's existing setting and this is the largest one it can find in the list.

To change resolutions, don't use the windows desktop properties. Instead, go into your crt_emudriver folder and launch the ArcadeOSD application - it always displays at 4:3. Then select a mode like 640x480i, and make it the desktop resolution.

If you cannot see 640x480i in the list, then something has gone wrong or you've failed to follow the install guide properly or used the wrong guide, or simply grabbed the wrong version of crt_emudriver. Can you tell us which version of crt_emudriver you used, and which guide you followed?
