Namco system 246 help cmos
« on: June 16, 2020, 09:48:57 am »
Ok i have a dedicated tekken 4 jamma cabinet at home. I love this game. Originally i bought it cleaned it up and replaced the cmos battery cause the one inside did not keep the settings. after 6 months the battery was dead again. figured i would try another brand, so i put an energizer lithium in. same thing after 6-7 months the cmos battery died again. next step i purchased another namco system 246 main board, replaced the battery in it put in my cabinet and 6-7 months the same thing, my question is does the system 246 eat batteries like this or can something else cause the cmos battery drain like the io board or something else? i find it hard to believe both my main boards are doing this. from some forums i have seen the batteries should last 5-7 years. any help would be awesome  :banghead:
